Swapfiets is introducing a tracking system for electric bikes to reduce the amount of missing bikes and gain insight into product performance.
First Swapfiets Power 1 and Power 7 e-bikes equipped with GPS trackers will be on the road in March.
The tracking system is set up in compliance with General Data Protection Regulation and the company is taking every step necessary to protect personal information.
Trackers can only be activated to locate an E-bike that is reported lost or stolen or to repossess an e-bike in the event of outstanding debt.
Collective anonymized data will be used to gain insight into bikes performance to further improve the products and Swapfiets service.
GPS trackers will provide an extra layer of protection for Swapfiets E-bikes in addition to the wheel lock, the chain, and the battery lock that every E-bike is already equipped with.
